History

Wittering Utd FC was formed by a few villagers in 1946 at that time they shared with the cricket club until approximately 2006 when the football club received a grant from the Woodgar trust to demolish the old wooden shed & have a new building erected in its place, this is when the Woodgar trust decided to build a separate home for the cricket club.

The trust was set up by one of the local villagers, this person was to say a very wealthy man in his time (most of the buildings & shops in Chichester & the village did & still do belong to the Woodgar trust)

The club are now going from strength to strength with new management teams for the 1st and reserve teams for the 2011/2012 season and are continuing to run the sunday team who play in the Chichester & West Sussex Sunday Football League.

The 2010/2011 season was successful for the Sunday team who won the Southdown's Rose Bowl Trophy which is now proudly on show in the club bar & the reserve team came runners up in Bareham trophy which was a fantastic achievement considering the team were only formed at the start of the season.

With a new management team, website and further plans to develop the club Wittering Utd are certainly on the up and this season is looking to be a very prosperous one for the club.

If you are a supporter of the club, perhaps an ex-player/manager or live in the local area and have anything you wish to add to the history page then please email witteringutd@hotmail.co.uk
